The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And (there are) fair ones with wide, lovely eyes, 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 The Companions of the Right 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 And clusters of banana plants. 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And raised couches; 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And made them virgins, 36 Devoted [to their husbands] and of equal age, 37 for the people of the right hand 38
