The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 You will become three categories: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 They shall be the nearest to God. 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and flowing water, 31 and fruits abounding 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
