The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And companions with big beautiful eyes 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and continuous shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 And fruit in plenty 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virginal, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
