▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ No! I swear by the positions of the stars – 75 - which is indeed a great oath if only you knew it - 76 that this indeed is a noble Qur'an, 77 in a hidden Book 78 which none but the pure [of heart] can touch: 79 a sending down from the Lord of all the Worlds. 80 Would you, now, look down with disdain on a tiding like this, 81 And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]? 82 Why is it not then that when it (soul) comes up to the throat, 83 And ye are at that moment looking 84 And We are nearer to him than you are, but you cannot see. 85 Wherefore then, if ye are not to be requited 86 can you not cause that [ebbing life] to return - if what you claim is true? 87 So if he is one of those who are near-stationed (to Allah), 88 Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure. 89 And if he be of the fellows on the right hand, 90 (For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand. 91 But if he is one of those who rejected [the truth] and went astray, 92 He shall have an entertainment of boiling water, 93 And burning in Hell-Fire. 94 This is the absolute Truth and certainty. 95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
