Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things. 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? 3 Yea, turn thy vision [upon it] again and yet again: [and every time] thy vision will fall back upon thee, dazzled and truly defeated. 4 And verily We have beautified the world's heaven with lamps, and We have made them missiles for the devils, and for them We have prepared the doom of flame. 5 The chastisement of Hell awaits those who disbelieve in their Lord. What a wretched destination! 6 When they are cast into it they shall hear it sighing, while it boils 7 As if about to explode with rage; whenever a group is thrown into it, the guardians of hell will ask them, “Did not a Herald of Warning come to you?” 8 They will say: “Yes, a warner came to us, but we gave the lie to him and said: 'Allah has revealed nothing. You are surely in huge error.' 9 And they will say: had we been wont to hearken or to reflect, we had not been among the fellows of the Blaze. 10 Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire. 11 As for those who fear their Lord unseen, for them is Forgiveness and a great Reward. 12 Whether you say a thing secretly or openly, He knows the innermost secrets of your hearts. 13 Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. 14
