Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 When a single blast is blown on the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are carried aloft and are crushed to bits at one stroke, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That will be the Day when you shall be brought forth (before Allah) and no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a lofty garden, 22 its fruits are near. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, "Oh, I wish I had not been given my record 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food save filth 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
