Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And not known my account! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 nor any food save the filth 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
