(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 'and do Thou ease for me my task. 26 And loose the knot from my tongue, 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 and associate him with me in my task. 32 That we may exalt You much 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 So go forth, both you and your brother, with My Signs, and do not slacken in remembering Me. 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 “Therefore go to him and say, ‘We are the sent ones of your Lord, therefore let the Descendants of Israel go with us, and do not trouble them; we have indeed brought to you a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance.’ 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 He said: who is the Lord of you twain, O Musa! 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave to everything its creation, then guided it (to its goal). 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
