Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Certainly I thought that I should encounter my reckoning.' 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In a high garden 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 "Eat ye and drink ye, with full satisfaction; because of the (good) that ye sent before you, in the days that are gone!" 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and neither known this my account! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 Nor urged others to feed the poor. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
