The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 [yet] between them is a barrier which they may not transgress. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
