WHAT, THEN, is amiss with such as are bent on denying the truth, that they run about confusedly to and fro before thee, 36 in crowds, both on the right and on the left? 37 Does every man among them aspire to be admitted into the Garden of serenity? 38 Never so. We have created them from what they know. 39 So I swear by the Lord of every East and every West, that We are indeed Able. 40 to substitute a better than they; We shall not be outstripped. 41 So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised - 42 The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening. 43 with downcast eyes and faces distorted in shame; such is the Day which they are promised. 44
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej). Sent down in Mecca after Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah) before The News (Al-Naba')
