Noah (Nooh)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite until an appointed term. Indeed when Allah's appointed term comes, it cannot be deferred; if you only knew!” 4 He said: "O my Lord! Verily, I have called my people night and day (i.e. secretly and openly to accept the doctrine of Islamic Monotheism). 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 "And verily! Every time I called unto them that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, and persisted (in their refusal), and magnified themselves in pride. 7 "Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud); 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. 10 He will send you abundant 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 While He has created you in (different) stages [i.e. first Nutfah, then 'Alaqah and then Mudghah, see (VV. 23:13, 14) the Quran]. 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, 19 so that you may tread its spacious paths.” 20

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
