Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
WE SENT NOAH to his people to warn them before the painful punishment came upon them. 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 but my call has only increased them in running away. 6 And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: 7 "Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud); 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 ‘Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens atop each other?’ 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 how He will then return you to it and bring you forth again, 18 And God has laid the earth for you as a carpet, 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
