Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 “That you must worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.” 3 He will forgive you your sins and respite you till an appointed term. When the term of Allah arrives it cannot be deferred; if you but knew' 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 "Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud); 8 And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. 9 And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving. 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 rain from the sky, 12 strengthen you by (providing) you wealth and children, and make gardens and streams for you. What is the matter with you that you are not afraid of the greatness of God 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 ‘Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens atop each other?’ 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, 19 so that you might walk thereon on spacious paths.'" 20
