Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 He will forgive you your sins and respite you till an appointed term. When the term of Allah arrives it cannot be deferred; if you but knew' 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 but the more I called, the farther they fled. 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 Then I said, "Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Surely He is the most forgiving. 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 And help you with wealth and sons, and make for you gardens, and make for you rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 Afterwards He will return you into it (the earth), and bring you forth (again on the Day of Resurrection)? 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 That you may follow therein roads of passage.'
