Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 He said: "O my people! Verily, I am a plain warner to you, 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 'My Lord' said he, 'night and day I have called my nation, 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. 10 He will send you abundant 11 and will provide you with wealth and children, and will bestow upon you gardens and rivers. 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 And God has laid the earth for you as a carpet, 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
