Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 And that the foolish amongst us used to forge extravagant things against Allah: 4 And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: 5 And indeed (O Muhammad) individuals of humankind used to invoke the protection of individuals of the jinn, so that they increased them in revolt against Allah); 6 and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 and that “some of us are upright and some of us are otherwise for we follow widely divergent paths”; 11 "'And withal, we have come to know that we can never elude God [while we live] on earth, and that we can never elude Him by escaping [from life]. 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 but as for those who abandon themselves to wrongdoing - they are indeed but fuel for [the fires of] hell!'" 15 [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, 16 That We might try them thereby. And whosoever turns away from the Reminder of his Lord (i.e. this Quran, and practice not its laws and orders), He will cause him to enter in a severe torment (i.e. Hell). 17 and that “mosques belong to Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Him”; 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
