Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 Guiding unto rectitude; wherefore we have believed therein, and we shall by no means associate with our Lord anyone. 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 we cannot tell if this bodes evil to those who dwell on earth or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 ‘And as for the unjust – they are the fuel of hell.’” 15 [KNOW,] THEN, that if they [who have heard Our call] keep firmly to the [right] path, We shall certainly shower them with blessings abundant, 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 ‘And that the mosques are for Allah only – therefore do not worship anyone along with Allah.’ 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
