Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. 8 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 ‘And we are certain that we cannot defeat Allah in the earth, nor can we run out of His grasp.’ 12 ‘And that when we heard the guidance, we accepted faith in it; so whoever accepts faith in his Lord, has no fear – neither of any loss nor of any injustice.’ 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 And when the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him, they crowded on him, almost stifling. 19
