By the moon, 32 By the night when it departs. 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
