▼ 74 The Hidden Secret

No, by the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 a warning to mortal man 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
