Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 running away from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
