Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the receding night 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
