The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. 1 We created the human being from the union of sperm and egg to test him. We gave him hearing and vision. 2 Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. 3 For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. 4 the righteous shall drink from a cup mixed with the coolness of kafur, 5 The Kafoor is a spring, from which the chosen bondmen of Allah will drink, causing it to flow wherever they wish inside their palaces. 6 Those who fulfil their vows and fear the Day whose evil shall be diffused far and wide, 7 And feed the needy for the love of Him, and the orphans and the captives, 8 (Saying): We feed you, for the sake of Allah only. We wish for no reward nor thanks from you; 9 "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." 10 So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day and give them radiance and happiness 11 For their patience, He will reward them with Paradise and silk. 12 therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; 13 The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; 14 Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass 15 And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. 16 and they will be given a cup to drink flavoured with ginger, 17 (The water of) a spring therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls. 19 And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. 20 Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink. 21 (And it will be said unto them): Lo! this is a reward for you. Your endeavour (upon earth) hath found acceptance. 22
