Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
