By no means! By the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning for people -- 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
