Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning for people -- 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
