Nay! By the moon 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 a warning to humankind, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 we fed not the needy, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
