No, by the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 it is a warning to man, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will answer: We were not of those who prayed 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
