Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning to mankind, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
