By no means! By the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 About the guilty: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 “And used to dwell on evil matters with those who think evilly.” 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
