Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
