Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
