Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
