Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
