Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon darkens 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
