Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
