Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
