Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
