Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
