Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
