Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
