Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
