Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
