The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? 1 Verily We created Man from a drop of mingled sperm, in order to try him: So We gave him (the gifts), of Hearing and Sight. 2 Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains and shackles and a burning fire. 4 Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, 5 which flows from a spring from which the servants of God will drink. 6 They keep their vows and fear a day the woe of which will spread far and wide; 7 And feed the needy for the love of Him, and the orphans and the captives, 8 (Saying),"We feed you for the sake of Allah alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. 9 Lo! we fear from our Lord a day of frowning and of fate. 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 And because they were patient and constant, He will reward them with a Garden and (garments of) silk. 12 There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver, and goblets of crystal, 15 And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. 16 And in Paradise they will be given to drink cups, filled with a mixture of ginger. 17 therein a fountain whose name is called Salsabil. 18 ۞ And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls. 19 If you were to see it, you would find it to be a great kingdom with great bounty. 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 (And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted." 22
