Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
We rescued the Israelites from the humiliating torment 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Verily these! they say: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
