The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Indeed there has been a time for man, when even his name did not exist anywhere. 1 We created man of a sperm-drop, a mingling, and We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. 4 Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, 5 A fountain from which the servants of Allah shall drink; they make it to flow a (goodly) flowing forth. 6 They fulfill vows and fear a day the evil of which shall be spreading far and wide. 7 And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, 8 Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. 9 Truly, we fear from our Lord a woefully grim Day." 10 So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, 11 And will reward them for what they patiently endured [with] a garden [in Paradise] and silk [garments]. 12 Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. 13 Near them shall be its shades with its clusters hung gently down, 14 And there shall be made to go round about them vessels of silver and goblets which are of glass, 15 goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. 16 and they will be given a cup to drink flavoured with ginger, 17 from a fountain called Salsabila. 18 ۞ And immortal youths will wait upon them: when thou seest them, thou wouldst deem them to be scattered pearls; 19 and when thou seest [anything that is] there thou wilt see [only] bliss and a realm transcendent 20 On their bodies will be garments of the finest green silk and brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give them a purest draught to drink. 21 This is your reward. Your endeavour is fully acknowledged. 22
