In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the emissary winds, sent one after another (for men's benefit), 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 excusing or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and for the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Go to the shadow with three ramifications, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
