Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We arranged. How excellent is Our arranging! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
