In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
